Boil the WATER, Charge EVERYTHING, Call D’MOTHER!

For the first time, Zambia is experiencing serious electricity and water outages country wide.

But why?

That would be a question for our good friend, Climate Change.

Zambia relies heavily on Hydropower; capitalising on its natural water source located at Victoria Falls – one of the largest waterfalls in the world.

This waterfall relies heavily on Zambia’s rainy season (Nov-Apr); however in 2018, for the first time, the high volumes of rainfall which arrive every other year, did not arrive.

As such, 2019 has seen an introduction of electricity and water outages across the country – 8-10 hours daily.

Between 16th – 21st November, our home was left without electricity for 5 days straight

When it came back on, oh my, oh my… WHAT. A. FEELING!!!
